The party season is upon us, with Christmas gatherings and New Year’s Eve bashes. Getting your body ready for it can be almost as stressful as getting ready for swimsuit season. After all, you’ll be dressing up, wearing your heels, and putting on your best looks. So, making sure you’re ready is probably at the top of your holiday list. In case you need a little help, here are three of the best ways to prep your body for party season.

Shed Some Pounds

Holiday parties are all about the dress. And presenting that dress in the sexiest way possible is usually the goal. This means shedding a few pounds in the right places and tightening up in the others. It may be too late to rebuild your entire physique, but there are certainly some things you can do to make your body a little lighter and a little more toned. A five- to seven-day juice cleanse or detox could be just what you need to lose a few pounds and shed some water weight that makes you appear bulkier. If you find it difficult to stick to an all-liquid diet, not to worry. There are plenty of other ways to detox that allow you to eat solid food. And if you’re not up to dieting much at all, give yourself the illusion of weight loss by wearing quality shapers underneath your party duds.

Rejuvenate Your Skin

Radiant skin will stand out as much as your shimmery new dress. In fact, it’s likely the first thing people will notice. First of all, you’ll want to exfoliate your skin to slough away dead skin cells and reveal healthier, smoother skin. Then, you can consider getting a nice golden spray tan to make your skin glow. If you decide to go with a spray tan, it’s always best to do it at least a day before the party to give it time to set and allow you to wash off any excess product. Powder and liquid bronzers also give you a little added warmth and shading. Just be careful not to overdo it.

It’s a good idea to visit the spa and get a seaweed mask or salt scrub the day of or the day before the party to give your face a fresh look.

Get Plenty Of Sleep

To be party-ready, you’ll need to get your beauty sleep leading up to it. Not only is sleep deficiency bad for your health, it can also wreak havoc on your appearance. Bags are only a cool accessory if you don’t carry them under your eyes. If you regularly have trouble sleeping, you may need to schedule an appointment at a healthcare center in Salem, NJ. From there, your doctor may order a sleep study to rule out medical problems such as sleep apnea. If, however, you seem to have trouble sleeping because of stress or too much energy, you can try a few natural remedies. Many people find activities such as yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises effective. You can also try diffusing essential oils such as lavender or frankincense on your bedside table.

Taking care of yourself all year is the best thing you can do for your health. However, we often become more aware of this need when it’s time to show off different types of clothing, such as party dresses and swimwear. And there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself a little added attention before the festivities begin. Just remember not to overdo it. You can’t cram a year’s worth of fitness into a week!
