Student have the option of choosing from online, on campus or hybrid programs that fit their lifestyles and where they can take advantage of assistance from enrollment to graduation.
Associate of Occupational Studies
The Occupational Studies courses at the California College at San Diego is especially designed so that every student will graduate as well rounded medical assistants that have practical skills in billing, radiology, and laboratory procedures. Each student is prepared for entry level jobs in a wide variety of medical positions. Upon completion of this program students are prepared to be certified or licensed in various medical positions. Students interested in RRT certification are not advised to take these courses.
Specialized Medical Careers
Medical assistants are a crucial part of the healthcare field. Approximately 60% of medical assistants have worked in doctor’s offices, 15% have work in both public and private hospitals and 12% have worked in offices of other specialized healthcare professionals. The remaining have worked in various other healthcare fields such as nursing homes and outpatient clinics.
