As the only four-year university in Sacramento, students can depend on a quality education with a focus on developing student leadership. Innovative programs and student life are designed to provide a well-rounded education to students entering the many four-year programs.
The large campus has a small campus feel for students searching for a warm and inviting educational environment. With a diverse number of subjects, students are sure to find a subject that they are interested in.
Academics and Degree Program
There are nine departments students can choose programs from at Sacramento State University, including; Arts and Letters, Business Administration, Continuing Education, Education, Engineering and Computer Science, Health and Human Service, Natural Science and Mathematics, Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, Academic Department.
Forty departments are available for students considering a graduate program including Anthropology, Education, Geology or Marine Studies.
Financial Information
Financial Aid at Sac State is focused on the student. Through the many different types of financial aid that are available, students can use federal student loans that must be repaid upon the completion of the education or through grants and scholarships, which aren’t required to be repaid. Students can use the guide available through the Sac State to determine their needs for the financial assistance through the entire course of the program including the costs for both education and housing.
Sac State allows the student to use the popular calculator that can be used to determine the net price for the education, based on the education path chosen, the institution, the financial situation and aid available – as well as the costs for campus housing and miscellaneous fees. Using the calculator or the CSUNPCC can allow the student to determine the financial aid that they are eligible for and can enable the student to learn about additional funding options that are available for students.
Students can use the Cal Grants system to get grants that do not have to repaid, like federal student loans. Student enrolled in full time education can earn as much as $2736.00 per term in grants to reduce the costs of the education, helping to offset the requirements for the students to work while attending school.
Student Life
Students at California State University, Sacramento can take part in more than two-hundred fifty clubs and organizations from academic, cultural and fraternity organizations to special interest and sports. Students can search through the groups to find one that suits their personality and interests, or even start a group of their own. Students are encouraged to begin their own club, as per the guide in the student handbook.
More than eight hundred events were scheduled for students in the previous academic year. These events are listed through the campus calendar and include events for students from sports to arts, and everything in between. Lectures, fitness and wellness event and concerts are available throughout the year to encourage student involvement on campus.
