A motorcyclist died in a crash involving one other vehicle in Santa Ana on Saturday, June 13.

The collision happened at about 8:50 p.m. along the 1200 block of North Euclid Street, Santa Ana Police Department officials said in a news release. Preliminary investigation suggests a man traveling south on a motorcycle struck a truck that was coming out of a driveway.

Officers responded and located a man in the roadway who was suffering from head trauma, police said. Orange County Fire Authority personnel treated the motorcyclist, but he died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the truck involved in the crash waited for investigators to arrive and was cooperative, police said. Speed may have been a factor, but authorities do not believe alcohol played a role in the collision.

Details regarding the victim’s identity were not immediately released.

Officials asked anyone who might have information relevant to the crash to call investigator Wes Hadley at  714-245-8216, or the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at 714-245-8200.
