Sylmar, CA: The Basement offers an Escape Room Experience that is thrilling and heavily puzzling. In order to play, clients are locked inside a story and to walk their way to safety, they must connect all the dots, solve puzzles and work as a team. Despite the game having a creeping sense of unease, the live performer’s only role is to give the guest a better experience without touching them or making them uncomfortable. The establishment has further modified the game by introducing minor changes and scare factors, making it interesting for the clients.
In continuation of The Basement’s dedication in creating a fun and memorable experience for guests, it has introduced an exciting new offering — “Dead & Breakfast.” As the name suggests, the new feature involves being locked in a small bed and breakfast in the middle of nowhere. The player must try to escape by unlocking the door using the available clues. Even with the thrilling atmosphere and limited time, factors such as comfort and safety remain crucial.
Besides Dead & Breakfast, the establishment also has a VIP experience with special perks such as having the entire facility available to the client. A client can now play until they escape, access free souvenirs for all participants, as well as a complimentary meal, snacks, and beverages. However, the factors that make the Escape room, such as puzzles, teamwork, and thrilling atmosphere, remain.
The Basement – Escape Rooms in Los Angeles has also changed its operations due to COVID-19 by making all games private and ensuring guests do not play with strangers. The new policy ensures the clients are safe from possible infections and allows them to work out and solve the escape puzzles with family and friends. In addition, the escape room requires all the guests to show proof of full vaccination per the Los Angeles City mandates.
The Basement requires the clients to purchase at least four tickets to play, even if there are fewer than four guests. While large parties must call in advance to book a spot, the establishment takes a maximum of 8 players at any given time. All participants must be 18 years and above — except for younger guests accompanied by an adult. (a copy of the guardian’s issued government ID must be submitted early or available upon request). For clients serving in the military and frontline workers, the establishment offers $10 off per ticket, valid credentials are due upon arrival for verification.
